Edward Gorey is one of my absolute favorite artists, and one of my favorite books when I was a kid was the Gashlycrumb Tinies, which is a short rhyming alphabet book where names of children and how they died are illustrated, as in A is for Amy who fell down the stairs, B is for Basil, assaulted by Bears. It’s a morbidly delightful book with wonderful ink work in it, and it’s fairly inexpensive. http://www.amazon.com/Gashlycrumb-Tinies-Edward-Gorey/dp/0151003084

Since copious amounts of people, aliens, and robots die in Doctor Who, I thought it might be fun to do a Doctor Who version of this poem in the hatching ink style of Edward Gorey. I’ll be doing the whole alphabet, which should take about until Christmas to complete.

I hope you enjoy it, the little illustrations are a blast to make.
